Is a mural, or indeed Graffiti merely painting on a wall? Of course not, although some might say it is.
I have been a fan of art OUTSIDE for many years, gazing admiringly rather than with disdain at the pictures and slogans which adorn the walls of towns, cities and even villages across the world.
As Andy Warhol said, "Art is getting away with anything you can."
The definition of graffiti is " writing or drawings scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place" and in contrast, a mural is art which has been commissioned, or painted deliberately.

Murals in the city of Campobasso in the Italian region of Molise are exceptional, particularly the intriguing, fascinating, vaguely disturbing images of a man being processed into a soldier at the bus station.
This is painted by street artist BLU, who originally from Senigallia, near Ancona he prefers to keep his identity hidden as many street artists do.
Other murals and Graffiti in Campobasso.....

This is just a random selection from around the city which brightens the walls of dull buildings adding character and colour.
Street art and graffiti is not an unusual sight anywhere in the world today, slogans painted on walls from Tokyo
to Katmandu
Molise one of the smallest regions in Italy has a prolific amount street art in some quite unexpected places as well.
In the tiny village of Civitacamporano for example, there are a series of exceptional murals, many painted by Alice Pasquini, http://www.alicepasquini.com/portfolio/civitacampomarano-it/
an American artist whose Grandmother was born in the village. She has been back to the village every year since 2015 to work other artists.
